West Suffolk Council and Community Action Suffolk are inviting local voluntary groups to a free networking event at the Haverhill Learning Centre. The 90‑minute session, titled ‘Let’s Talk Volunteering’, will focus squarely on volunteer recruitment, retention strategies, and partnership working.

Organisers will also demonstrate the Volunteer Suffolk website, a free platform managed by Community Action Suffolk where volunteer managers can upload opportunities. Places are capped at 20 organisations and will be allocated on a first‑come basis.

The Haverhill Learning Centre occupies Provincial House on High Street, a facility that opened in November 2024 after a £2 million investment by West Suffolk Council. West Suffolk College, part of Eastern Education Group, runs the centre. Community Action Suffolk has been delivering no‑cost networking under its ‘Let’s Talk Networking’ banner for some time, aiming to connect volunteer coordinators across the county and share best practice.

In October 2022, a Community and Volunteering Fair at Haverhill Arts Centre drew 11 organisations. Jointly staged by the Haverhill Volunteer Centre and Community Action Suffolk, that event led to practical links such as the pairing of Get Suffolk Reading with the School Readers charity.

The ‘Let’s Talk Volunteering’ session at the Learning Centre continues this collaborative pattern, offering voluntary groups in Haverhill a chance to strengthen their networks and explore free digital tools.
