Europe’s largest street art event returns to Northampton this August after a three-year absence. Wall Games will bring more than 330 of the UK’s top graffiti artists into the town centre from 29 to 31 August 2026, transforming walls and shutters across the area.
Organisers describe the weekend as an open-air gallery, with artists working on designated spaces to create large-scale murals. The event, founded by art curator James Thompson in 2019, previously ran in 2019, 2021, and 2022 before it was cancelled indefinitely in 2023 when organisers could not secure main spaces. An official after party takes place at The Roadmender on Lady’s Lane on Sunday 30 August, running from 7pm until 11pm with advance tickets priced at £15.
Earlier editions saw new pieces appear along Guildhall Road, in the Greyfriars underpass, at Sol Central, on Green Street and on the St Peter’s Way hoardings near St James Retail Park. This year Northampton BID has stepped in as a supporting partner and is inviting businesses with suitable walls or shutters to become official Wall Games partners. West Northamptonshire Council has also backed the revival, listing support for Wall Games 2026 in its official town centre task group plan as a graffiti removal and prevention project.
The event is organised by the not-for-profit Wall Games Arts Association, which uses its outreach work to support local charities, artists and communities. With more than 330 artists confirmed, the 2026 edition is set to be the largest Wall Games yet staged anywhere in Europe.
