Warrington residents face a noon deadline tomorrow to help shape the future of local policing through a new consultation launched by Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price. The online survey seeks views on priorities for the Police and Crime Plan, giving residents a direct say on what matters most in their communities.
The questionnaire covers issues including tackling anti-social behaviour and strengthening community engagement, and takes about two minutes to complete. Submissions close at 12 midday on Friday 10 July 2026, with only one response counted per person. Price stressed the importance of hearing from the public directly to refresh the current plan and ensure it continues to reflect local concerns.
The existing Police and Crime Plan 2024–2028 rests on three pillars: Listen to the public, Modernise, and Reduce crime. It was developed with input from the UK’s first police and crime commissioner citizens’ assemblies, which Price piloted in Crewe and Nantwich after his election in May 2024. Those assemblies brought together randomly selected residents to deliberate on policing issues before feeding into the plan’s priorities, which also include supporting victims, neighbourhood policing, violence against women and girls, domestic abuse, rural crime, and fraud and cybercrime.
Feedback from this latest survey will strengthen the commissioner’s ability to hold Chief Constable Mark Roberts to account for delivery. The plan notes that Cheshire Constabulary has grown by 330 officers since 2021, and neighbourhood policing teams are expanding from 251 people in April 2025 to 326 in 2026. Residents’ responses will directly inform where those resources are focused.
The consultation runs through the SmartSurvey platform, with the short questionnaire asking residents to identify which policing issues they consider most pressing. With the deadline fast approaching, Warrington residents have a final day to contribute their views on the strategic direction of Cheshire Constabulary.
