The monthly Makers Market returns to Market Place on 11 July 2026, bringing artisan goods and gourmet treats to the heart of Stockport. Organised by Totally Stockport, the event runs from 10:00 to 16:00 and promises to transform the historic square into a lively hub of creativity.

Shoppers can browse stalls showcasing handmade crafts, local produce and street food, all set against the backdrop of the town’s distinctive architecture. The market has become a regular fixture on the second Saturday of each month, offering residents and visitors a predictable date to support independent makers.

Totally Stockport, the Business Improvement District company behind the initiative, unlocks £2 million of additional funding over five years for town centre projects. Shaun Freeman-Jones, BID Manager, oversees events like the Makers Market in partnership with Stockport Council. The council is currently steering a £1 billion regeneration programme aimed at reshaping the town centre.

Market Place is a 12-minute walk from Stockport Interchange, with cycle racks available for those arriving by bike. Parking nearby is limited, making public transport the simpler option for many. The next market after this one will fall on 8 August.
