Haverhill Youth Theatre is inviting children and young people aged 5 to 18 to step into the world of Pride Rock at a two-day Lion King workshop this July. Haverhill Arts Centre will host the sessions on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 July, running from 10:00am to 3:00pm each day.

Participants will spend both days learning songs, choreography, and scenes celebrating the hit film and stage show, with no previous experience required. The workshop costs £61.50 per child and culminates in a performance for parents and carers on the second day. Families should pack a lunch, snacks, water, and any essential medication, and children must be able to use the toilet independently. Soft shoes and comfortable clothing are all that is needed for the sessions.

The arts centre, housed in the Grade II listed former Town Hall on High Street, has hosted similar themed holiday workshops before, including a Greatest Showman event following the same two-day format. The regular Haverhill Youth Theatre programme runs weekly on Sundays during school term times, with Stage 1 for School Years 1 to 6 from 9:30am and Stage 2 for Years 6 to 13 from 10:15am. Weekly sessions cost £4.50 and £6 respectively.

The Victorian building, which opened as an arts venue in 1994 and is now managed by Haverhill Town Council, offers a 210-seat auditorium, a café, bar, and full disabled access. Parking is available behind the building on Helions Walk, with the postcode CB9 8DN. Bookings and enquiries can be made through the box office on 01440 714140.
