Two free family events will fill The Gallery at The Forum in Norwich on Wednesday 15 July, led by library staff during the school holidays. Bounce and Rhyme runs from 10.15am to 10.45am, offering stories, rhymes and songs for parents and children. Board Games for Families follows immediately, opening from 11am until 12noon for drop-in play.

No booking is needed for either session, though staff will manage capacity on the day. The events form part of The Forum’s July programme, with additional Bounce and Rhyme sessions already scheduled for Friday 17 July and Thursday 23 July.

The sessions are taking place while the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library remains closed for its most significant refurbishment in 25 years. The main library shut on 27 April and is expected to reopen in mid-July, but the library team has been running services in other Forum spaces throughout the works. The rest of The Forum, including its restaurants and car park, has stayed fully open.

The Millennium Library first opened in 2001 after the former Norwich Central Library was destroyed by fire. The current refurbishment marks a celebration of its legacy, with improvements underway across its specialist collections, which include the Norfolk Heritage Centre and the Early Years Library.

The Forum is at Millennium Plain, Norwich, NR2 1TF. Details of all July events are available on its website.
