Detectives have arrested four people after 16-year-old Khadeem Parris was stabbed to death at an address in Adnitt Road, Abington. Northamptonshire Police said a 21-year-old man was held on suspicion of murder on Thursday, 9 July, and remained in custody the following day.
Three others — two men aged 56 and 19 and a 51-year-old woman, all from Northampton — were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Detectives executed warrants at several addresses, including properties in Salcey Street and Thorn Hill Walk. A post-mortem examination confirmed Khadeem, who was from Motherwell in Scotland, died from a stab wound following the incident on the evening of Tuesday, 7 July.
Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Catling, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, is leading the investigation. He appealed for anyone who was in the Adnitt Road area between 6.30pm and 7pm that day, or drivers with dashcam footage, to come forward. The force carried out further warrants at three properties in the Weedon Road area on 10 July, though no additional arrests were made.
Khadeem’s family described him as a “funny, smiling boy” who was excited to begin a college course in plumbing and electrical work in August. The three suspects held on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail pending further enquiries, while the murder suspect remains in police custody.
