West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a car fire at The Triangle in Paddock left a 25-year-old man with serious burn injuries. Officers were called to the junction of Market Street, Gledholt Bank and Allen Row at about 3:50pm on Thursday 15 July, where paramedics had already found the injured man. The blaze set ablaze several nearby parked vehicles before firefighters brought it under control.
Detective Inspector Will Denton of Kirklees CID said the man remains in hospital in a stable condition. “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding this vehicle fire and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward,” he said, adding that initial enquiries are not treating the ignition as suspicious.
