Gateshead Council in Tyne and Wear has released a new guide for local events taking place between 1 February and 31 May, 2026. The guide lists a variety of performances and community activities at venues like Saltwell Park and Caedmon Hall to help residents plan their visits.

The programme includes heritage walks and activities at the community orchard, with early details also shared for the Gateshead Carnival later in the summer. These events are often supported by local volunteers from the Friends of Saltwell Park, who help look after the historic park grounds and Saltwell Towers.

The council has confirmed that ticketing policies include free tickets for carers who are supporting another visitor at an event. Discounts are also available for people over 60, students, and children under 16, as well as those who use a Go Gateshead Access Card.

Paper copies of the events booklet can be found at local libraries, such as the Central Library on Prince Consort Road. Local groups who want to book a space or ask about upcoming shows can use the online enquiry form or call the council box office directly.
