Macclesfield Town Hall in Cheshire will host a jobs fair on Wednesday 4 February 2026 to help local people find new work and get career advice. The event runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm and brings together employers and jobseekers to fill vacancies in sectors such as healthcare, life sciences and retail.

Organised by Jobcentre Plus (DWP) in partnership with Cheshire East Council, the fair is free to attend and does not require prior booking. More than 30 employers are expected to have stalls at the event; employers typically represented at these fairs include AstraZeneca and East Cheshire NHS Trust, though organisers should be contacted for a confirmed exhibitor list.

Visitors can get help with their CVs or practice for interviews on the spot. Local DWP figures estimate Macclesfield has more than 3,000 people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance or Universal Credit; Office for National Statistics data for the wider Cheshire East area show around 5,785 claimants (March 2024).

The event is especially timely because many temporary Christmas roles expire after the ‘Golden Quarter’ and sectors such as social care are actively recruiting. It provides an opportunity for school leavers, those returning to work, and people seeking a career change to meet employers face-to-face.

Local residents who use the Jobcentre are encouraged to speak with their work coaches about attending. More community coverage and local notices can be found via local outlets such as Macclesfield Nub News.
