The Macclesfield Town Council is hosting a free Easter celebration on April 4, 2026, to bring families into the town centre in Cheshire for a bunny hunt and creative workshops.

The event runs from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and includes a trail where children can search for hidden bunnies in shop windows along Chestergate and Mill Street. Local creative group Macclesfield Community ArtSpace is also leading craft sessions in town-centre venues — traditionally the Old Butter Market and the Old Sunday School — where families can make their own art.

By encouraging residents to visit independent shops, the council hopes to help local business owners after the quiet winter months. Previous reports from local news coverage (Macclesfield Express / Cheshire Live) show that these town-centre events are popular for making the high street a more vibrant place to visit.

Visitors can travel to the town centre by train or use local car parks at Whalley Hayes and Duke Street. To make sure everyone can join in, the activities are located on flat pavement areas that are easy to reach for people using pushchairs or wheelchairs.
