Gedling Borough Council is hosting a free Apprenticeship and Recruitment Fair on Tuesday 10 February 2026 at the Richard Herrod Centre, Foxhill Road, Carlton, NG4 1RL. The drop-in event, timed to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week (9–15 February 2026), aims to help local residents — especially young people — find jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities close to home.

The council says around 30 employers and training providers are expected to attend. The event is being run in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Arnold Jobcentre and will allow people to speak directly with employers who are currently recruiting. Attendees can access careers advice and speak with representatives from the health service, retail employers and local construction firms; no booking is required.

The fair supports priorities set out in the Gedling Plan 2023–2027 and links to Gedling’s wider regeneration work in Greater Carlton, including a 10-year, £20 million investment programme for the area. For the latest event details and information on future community projects, consult the Gedling Borough Council events page and the council’s official website.
