An outdoor adventure race will take place in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, on March 7, 2026, giving local residents an opportunity to try navigation-based multisport racing. The event, run by Tri-Adventure, will see participants run and cycle through local parks and along the riverside.

The event is expected to be based at the Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex (Waterside Drive, KT12 2JG), though organisers have also identified Whiteley Village as a possible hub. People can choose from different race lengths lasting between one and four hours. Participants will use a map and compass to find checkpoints along the Thames Path and around Desborough Island.

Entry fees for the day range from £22 to £40, making it an affordable option for school teams, local running clubs, and individual athletes. Anyone wishing to take part can sign up online to join the staggered morning starts, which begin at 09:00.

Local organisers expect the leisure centre car park to be very busy by 08:30 on the morning of the race. While public footpaths will remain open, residents walking near Walton Bridge or Sunbury Lock should expect more runners and cyclists on the trails until about 13:00.
