South Devon College will host a public open evening on Monday 11 May 2026 at its Paignton (Long Road) campus, serving prospective students across Torbay including Torquay. The event runs from 4:00pm to 6:30pm and is designed to help school leavers and adult learners decide on their next steps before the new academic year begins in September.

Visitors can tour the £17 million Hi‑Tech & Digital Centre, which houses state‑of‑the‑art labs for computing, creative media (including photography and sound studios and a 100‑seat screening suite), photonics and engineering, plus facilities such as an eSports suite and manufacturing/electrical testing. College staff will also be on hand to discuss the Marine Academy — based at Noss on Dart — and other hands‑on training workshops.

The evening is an opportunity to learn about Technical Levels (T‑Levels), which combine classroom learning with a 45‑day industry placement with employers. University Centre South Devon (UCSD) will also be present to outline higher‑education degree routes delivered in partnership with the University of Plymouth.

The open evening is aimed at secondary school leavers and adults seeking new workplace skills. Attendees are asked to pre‑register on the college website to book subject‑specific times and one‑to‑one meetings with tutors.
