In February 2026, Walsall Council confirmed final plans to build new community allotments, wildlife areas and an events space in Bloxwich, West Midlands. The decision completes the final phase of the multi‑million‑pound Green Bloxwich programme, part of the £21.3 million Bloxwich Town Deal, and secures delivery of new green‑space improvements alongside the restoration of local heritage buildings for community use.

The plans focus on transforming King George V Memorial Playing Fields into a destination venue with a flexible open space for markets and seasonal events, together with biodiversity corridors linking major green spaces across Bloxwich. Six dedicated community allotment plots have been identified to help meet long-standing local demand for growing space.

As part of the wider programme, the council has restored heritage assets such as the Bloxwich Launchpad — the former Post Office — and will repair two redundant park buildings to create small business and café spaces to attract visitors to the park and support high‑street trade.

The work is funded primarily through the UK Government’s Towns Fund as part of the £21.3 million Bloxwich Town Deal, with additional community capital support where required. Earlier phases of the programme included refurbishments at Leamore Park and improvements at Bloxwich Park in 2024–2025.

Local leaders say the improvements are intended to boost community health, create business incubation opportunities and increase footfall for Bloxwich’s town centre. Local reporting indicates the final phase of works is expected to complete in late 2026 to early 2027.
