The National Trust has announced that the annual Easter egg hunt and nature trail will return to Scotney Castle in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, starting on March 21, 2026. The event is designed to give local families a traditional outdoor activity during the spring break, with the trail running until April 19, 2026.
Children can take part in ten activity stations across the castle grounds and gardens, including games and nature challenges. The National Trust says the trail focuses on nature-based play where participants can learn about local plants and wildlife while they explore the estate.
Trail packs cost £3.50 per person, in addition to the usual entry fee, and include an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free From chocolate egg on completion. Organisers say the trail helps raise money to support the ongoing care and conservation of the 14th-century moated castle and the surrounding 780-acre estate.
The trail runs daily from 10:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:30), though staff recommend arriving early and booking parking in advance because the grounds can be very busy over the Easter bank holiday. This year’s trail covers the Victorian gardens and the paths around the castle ruins to provide different views of the historic site.
