On 3 February 2026, Peterborough City Council held a pop-up drop-in in Cathedral Square, Peterborough, to gather ideas for the city centre’s future. The informal roadshow allowed residents to speak to council staff and share views about how public spaces and local services should change over the next 15–20 years.

The council is asking for feedback on several topics, including how to support the high street and where to increase green space and planting. People who could not attend the pop-up can complete the ‘Shaping the Future of Peterborough City Centre’ online survey; the consultation runs until 12 March 2026.

Local views will help guide major projects, including the Peterborough Station Quarter work. The Station Quarter’s first package, City Link, is intended to create a positive gateway into the city centre and improve connections from the station through the Queensgate roundabout into the top of Cowgate. The Station Quarter has secured Levelling Up funding overseen by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA), with delivery monitored alongside Peterborough City Council. Feedback from this consultation will be considered as the council develops the Submission version of the Local Plan (covering to 2044).
