The Folkestone Town Council has confirmed that major air displays will return to the town for the 14th annual Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 26, 2026. This free community event in Folkestone, Kent, will celebrate the work of the military with a series of flypasts and family activities along the clifftops.

Spectators can look forward to seeing the RAF Red Arrows perform their trademark aerobatic displays over the English Channel. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Avro Lancaster PA474 will be absent in 2026 as it undergoes an 18-month major overhaul, but the BBMF’s Spitfire and Hurricane fighters are expected to take part.

Organisers expect more than 50,000 people to visit the Leas Bandstand to watch the show and enjoy live music. The day will also include a military parade and is expected to bring a significant boost to local shops and hotels.

The event is supported by an Armed Forces Day grant from the Ministry of Defence and has become the premier aviation and community event for South East Kent following the indefinite cancellation of the standalone Folkestone Air Display. It serves as a way for the community to show their support for veterans and active service members.
