Northamptonshire Police released a CCTV image on Wednesday 4 February 2026 of a man they wish to identify after a car was broken into on Chester Road in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The theft occurred at about 6:50am on Saturday 24 January 2026.

Items taken from the parked vehicle included a microphone, an OBD (On‑Board Diagnostics) scanner and a pair of sunglasses. Northamptonshire Police said officers believe the man in the image “may have information which could assist them” and are appealing for anyone who recognises him to get in touch.

The Northamptonshire Telegraph reported that anyone with information should contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, and quote incident number 26000045937 so information reaches the correct team.

The appeal comes from the Wellingborough Neighbourhood Policing team amid ongoing work to tackle vehicle crime in residential streets. Local residents are reminded to keep their cars locked and to remove all valuables from sight when parking.
