Older residents in Norwich, Norfolk, can now access a new range of social groups and support services following the release of a community activity calendar for February 2026. The charity Age UK Norfolk has organised these events at various local venues to help people aged 55 and over stay connected and get help during the colder months.

The programme includes a mix of free and low-cost activities such as craft sessions, health talks, and bereavement support groups. Many of these gatherings take place at the Henderson Business Centre on Ivy Road and the Harford Community Centre, as well as several local parish churches that are serving as warm spaces for those concerned about heating costs.

These services arrive after a cold winter period that has left many older people worried about rising energy prices and feeling isolated. Ann Donkin, Chief Executive of Age UK Norfolk, said: “Seeing our service users and volunteers enjoying themselves, making new connections, and sharing laughter is exactly what these events are all about.” (Quote published by Age UK Norfolk.)

Residents can find specific times and dates for these sessions through the Norfolk Community Directory. This month’s push for local support is part of Age UK Norwich’s Warm Homes/Warm Spaces work to help older people in the city stay warm and well as the winter ends.
