Families in Bournemouth, Dorset, can take part in a pirate‑themed treasure hunt this spring as the Swashbuckling Easter Trail returns to the seafront. The event is scheduled to run during the Easter school holidays (30 March–10 April 2026) at Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf on Pier Approach.

Participants follow clues across the 18‑hole course to find hidden items and claim a prize at the end of their round. The trail is based on Dorset’s late 18th‑century smuggling history (the 1780s) and features characters like the Moonshadow Gang to help tell the story of the town’s past to younger visitors.

According to BCP Council, which operates the site, the activity provides residents with an outdoor option for child‑focused fun. The course includes waterfalls, rocky terrain and themed set pieces representing landmarks such as The Old Church and The Gullies.

Visitors can find more information about the pier and nearby seaside activities through Visit Bournemouth to help plan their holiday outings. This annual event is part of a wider effort to bring more people to the beach area during the first major school holiday of the year.
