A 32-year-old man from Portsmouth has been charged with assault and three breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) following several reports of suspicious behaviour at Cobden Park. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed the charges after incidents involving children occurred between 1 December 2025 and 26 January 2026.

Jason Peter Dixon, of Milton Road, faces one count of assault and three breaches of an SHPO. Police say he was charged on 5 February 2026 and remanded to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on 6 February 2026.

The investigation followed separate reports that Dixon approached an 11-year-old girl on 1 December and again on 3 December 2025. On 26 January 2026 a 12-year-old boy reported that a man took a photograph of him in the park and then assaulted him by grabbing him around the neck and stomach; the child was not hurt, police said.

Officers from the Fratton and Baffins neighbourhood policing team have asked anyone who may have seen the incidents to come forward. Police are specifically seeking dashcam or doorbell-camera footage recorded in the Cobden Avenue/Milton Road area between 20 and 26 January 2026.
