The Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce published an analysis by MHA on 6 February 2026 that says the Milton Keynes property market is entering a period of steadier, calmer growth. The piece, titled “Halifax House Price Index: A calmer market sets the tone for 2026,” interprets Halifax data to give local homeowners and businesses a sense of what to expect for the year ahead.

Halifax reported that UK house prices rose by 0.7% in January 2026, reversing a 0.5% fall in December 2025, and pushing the average UK house price above £300,000 (Halifax reported £300,077). MHA’s analysis draws on those Halifax figures to argue the market is moving into a more subdued and stable phase.

The Chamber post was authored by MHA, a national accountancy and advisory firm with a Milton Keynes office based at The Pinnacle (five partners and about 70 staff). MHA says a calmer market should help local developers and landlords make more measured decisions on pricing and projects during 2026.

While Halifax reported the average UK house price has exceeded £300,000 for the first time, MHA and local commentators say demand in Milton Keynes remains strong, supported in part by growth in technology and professional services employment. Milton Keynes City Council’s housing requirement for the monitoring year 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 is 1,799 dwellings.
