Families in Kingswinford, West Midlands, can access more than 130 free activities in Dudley’s libraries this half-term, plus additional low-cost and paid events across the borough during the school break starting Monday, 16 February 2026. According to Dudley Council’s activity guide, the programme includes craft workshops, sports sessions and hobby clubs designed to keep children active and entertained.

Local sessions at Kingswinford Library include LEGO (and LEGO Spike) clubs and Chinese New Year–themed craft activities. Organisers and library staff have worked to make events available close to neighbourhoods to help reduce travel for families.

Children aged 16 and under who live in the Dudley borough can also take advantage of free swimming sessions at council-run leisure centres during the half-term, but families must register in advance and youngsters must be accompanied by a responsible adult (aged 18 or over). While the official half-term week runs Monday 16–Friday 20 February, some library activities are scheduled across the surrounding weekends (dates vary by library).

Families can visit the Red House Glass Cone in nearby Wordsley, which reopened following restoration work completed in 2024. The site is hosting a family trail throughout half-term week, with a free make-and-take craft session for children aged four to eight on Saturday 21 February.

Parents are encouraged to check specific holiday dates for their children — Kingswinford Academy and some other local schools publish their own term calendars — and use Dudley Council’s school-term information to help with planning.
