The Met Office ended a yellow ice warning for Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, at 3:39 AM on February 15, 2026. This means that major travel problems are now less likely across the city than they were during the previous alert period.

The weather is expected to stay cold and clear, though some rain might pass through the area first. While the main warning is gone, frost can still form on surfaces that have not been treated with salt. People should still be careful on pavements and side roads that might remain slippery throughout the morning.

To help keep the city moving, Milton Keynes City Council has eight gritting lorries working on the main grid roads. However, the council’s winter services department points out that smaller paths and Redway cycle routes are not always treated at the same time as the main roads.

A cold weather health alert is still in place for the region because temperatures will stay near freezing for the next few nights. Residents are encouraged to check on their neighbours and stay warm while these colder conditions continue.
