Residents in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, will gather at Greenhead Park on February 28, 2026, for a community event designed to support people living with or recovering from cancer. The monthly meeting, known as 5k Your Way, encourages locals to move at their own pace to improve their physical and mental health.

This initiative is a partnership between the MOVE charity, the Ella Dawson Foundation, and the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. It provides a way for patients, survivors, and healthcare workers to connect and stay active outside of a medical environment.

Participants are invited to walk, jog, run, or volunteer during the session, which takes place on the last Saturday of every month. Since starting in 2023, the Huddersfield group has grown into a support network that has helped nearly 200 people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

The event begins at 8:45 AM on the grass area between the local parkrun start point and the park cafe. It is free to attend, and many participants stay for a social session with coffee after the activity to share their stories in a relaxed environment.
