Marlon Buchoon-Katsambe, a 21-year-old from Stadium Road, was charged with two counts of attempted murder on February 17, 2025, after a violent incident in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The charges followed a serious assault in the early hours of Sunday, February 16, 2025, that left two people injured inside a local home.

According to Essex Police, officers were called to the property where they found a man with life-threatening injuries and a woman who was also hurt. The man was taken to the hospital and has since been stabilised, while the woman received medical care for injuries that were not as severe.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, the suspect faced two counts of intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH), and assault by beating. Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe stated that the victims and the suspect knew each other and that there was no wider risk to the public.

Specialist forensic teams from the Serious Crime Directorate spent several days at the scene near Greyhound Way to gather evidence. Buchoon-Katsambe was scheduled to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 17, 2025, to face the charges.
