Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke, Hampshire, reported on February 13, 2026, that 23 per cent of its applicants received offers from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, outperforming the global average of 19 per cent. This success means more local students are winning spots at these top institutions across competitive subjects such as Law, Economics, and Mathematics.

The college confirmed that more than half of the students who were invited to an interview were successful in getting an offer. These results were achieved by students from several local secondary schools, including The Costello School, Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School, and Court Moor School.

Successful applicants include Daisy from Court Moor School, who received an offer for Law, and James and Rose from The Costello School, who will study History and Economics, and Economics, respectively. Sophia, a former student at Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School, also won a place to study Ancient and Modern History.

To support these applications, the college runs the Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme led by Tom Featherstone and Jason Yeomans. This scheme provides students with a full year of weekly mentoring and practice sessions to help them prepare for entrance exams and university interviews.
