The Met Office has warned that residents in Norwich, Norfolk, should prepare for a period of unsettled and changeable weather between February 24 and March 5, 2026. This forecast includes repeated spells of rain and strong winds as weather systems move across the country from the Atlantic, with a significant chance of gales at times.

While the weather will be blustery, temperatures are expected to stay well above the typical February average of around 8 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the city could see highs reach 15 degrees Celsius, providing a very mild but windy break from the usual winter chill.

The expected rain and wind may cause travel problems on local routes, including the A47 at Honingham and the Greater Anglia rail line through Thetford. These areas are known to face flooding and disruptions during heavy rainfall, and commuters are advised to check for updates before starting their journeys.

The Environment Agency is also monitoring flood warning zones along the River Wensum, including areas near Bishopgate, Carrow Road, and the Quayside. Nearby coastal communities like Hemsby remain on alert, as previous storms this year have already left several clifftop homes at risk of falling into the sea.
