Norfolk Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a woman in Thorpe St Andrew, Norfolk, following a serious assault in January 2026.

Officers were first called to Catherine Gardens at 11:45 PM on January 17, 2026, after reports that a woman had been injured in the street. The victim was later identified as 49-year-old Tania Williams, a mother of four who was reported by the Norfolk Constabulary as dedicated and kind.

A post-mortem examination found that Mrs. Williams died from hypovolemic shock caused by blood loss from a wound to her neck. Raymond Lee Williams, 61, was arrested on January 18, 2026, and has since been charged with murder. He is reported to have previously worked for police forces in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

Residents in the area have expressed shock following the incident on the residential street. Officers are continuing their enquiries and have asked anyone with information to contact the Major Investigation Team.
