A 37-year-old woman has been jailed for 66 weeks after a series of thefts and court order violations in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Kayleigh McConnon, who has no fixed address, was sentenced at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on February 11, 2026.

McConnon pleaded guilty to five counts of shoplifting and five counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) designed to keep her out of almost every retail premises. PC Louis Gilbert of the Cheltenham Neighbourhood Policing Team confirmed she also broke the terms of a previous suspended sentence during her recent crime spree.

Investigators found that McConnon targeted retailers such as Tesco and Superdry despite being under a three-year ban issued in 2024. That order restricted her from entering almost every shop in the town center except for five specific businesses.

Police officials made the case a priority because of the constant disruption and distress McConnon caused to local shopkeepers. The court sentence is expected to offer immediate reassurance to the business community by removing a repeat offender from the streets.
