Residents in Basingstoke, Hampshire, can expect a brief burst of spring weather this week as temperatures are forecast to reach 15C on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. This peak in warmth is nearly double the typical February average of 7C to 8C for the local area.

According to the Met Office, the day will feature sunny intervals and light winds with gusts only reaching around 16mph. These mild conditions are part of a changeable weather period caused by weather systems moving across the Atlantic Ocean.

The warmer weather provides an opportunity for locals to spend time outdoors or work in the garden before windier conditions arrive on Thursday. Experts at Awareness Days note that these higher temperatures could also help households save money, as lowering a thermostat by just one degree can reduce heating bills by about 10 per cent.

Historical data from Weather Spark shows that February is usually one of the coldest months of the year. While the daytime will stay mostly dry on Wednesday, there is a small 10 per cent chance of rain forecast for later in the evening around 7pm.
