A man in his 50s is in a serious condition after being hit by a car on St Paul’s Road in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The incident happened at around 2:15 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026, when a Nissan Micra struck the pedestrian and a parked Mercedes.

Paramedics from the South West Ambulance Service provided emergency care at the scene before the man was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. An air ambulance also attended the site to assist land crews with the medical response and specialist treatment.

The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 70s, was checked over by medical staff at the scene but did not need to go to the hospital. Officers from the Gloucestershire Constabulary closed the road for several hours to examine the area and recover the vehicles involved.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision to come forward. Residents with information that could help the investigation are asked to contact officers and quote incident 224 of February 20, 2026.
