The University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity is hosting a remembrance event called Light Up The Prom this Friday, February 27, 2026, at Bournemouth Pier Approach to support families in Poole, Dorset. This evening provides a public moment for residents to remember loved ones while raising money for local healthcare services.

The event starts at 7:00pm and includes a candlelit vigil with readings from lead chaplain James Taylor and music from a local choir. To finish the night, a fireworks display will take place over the water from Bournemouth Pier.

Local residents can take part by reserving a place and receiving an LED candle in exchange for a donation to the charity. The money raised will fund medical equipment and facilities at Poole Hospital, Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and Christchurch Hospital.

For the second year in a row, the event is supported by headline sponsor Coles Miller Solicitors. Corporate fundraiser Hayley Harris helps coordinate the evening to ensure the proceeds go directly toward improving care for patients and their families in the community.
