On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Harmony Youth Project in Bolton, Greater Manchester, is hosting a free advice session to help people under the age of 21 with housing, benefits, and mental health support. The drop-in event aims to provide practical help to young residents in a familiar community environment rather than a formal office.

The event at the centre on Bradshawgate is split into two parts to cover different needs. From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, a mental health network called 1Point will offer wellbeing counselling, followed by an hour of support from Citizens Advice for those with questions about education, legal issues, or money.

Local figures from the Bolton JSNA, which tracks local health and poverty data, show that around 45 per cent of children in the area live in poverty. This session is designed to help young people tackle these financial pressures while also getting emotional support from specialists.

The Harmony Youth Project has worked in the community since 2001, typically offering creative activities like music and mentoring for people aged 8 to 25. This latest initiative uses the charity’s workshops as a base to connect young people with professional advisors who can help with immediate housing or benefit crises.
