Residents in Bloxwich, West Midlands, can now sign up for a council-backed scheme to get lower prices on solar panels, battery storage, and heat pumps. Walsall Council has launched the Switch Together programme to help homeowners find vetted installers for greener home upgrades at a reduced cost through community buying power.

The registration period for the Switch Together scheme is open from February 23 to April 26, 2026. Under the programme, suppliers compete in an auction to offer the most competitive pricing to the group of registered residents, making these high-cost upgrades more affordable.

Every installation comes with a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee as standard to provide security for local households. All work is performed by vetted installers who meet official standards for quality and safety, and residents will receive expert guidance on which energy technologies best suit their needs.

The scheme supports the council’s Net Zero 2041 strategy to reduce local carbon emissions. This work is also linked to an 8 million pound Net-Zero Neighbourhood project starting in the Dudley Fields area of Bloxwich this spring.
