Residents in York, North Yorkshire, can take part in a ‘Model as Muse’ life drawing workshop at York Art Gallery on Saturday 14 March 2026 to help them develop their artistic skills in a professional setting. The two-hour session runs from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and is open to adults of all skill levels.

The class is led by local artist and tutor Rob Oldfield, who has taught drawing in the region for over ten years. These sessions are held on the second Saturday of every month and are designed to be supportive for both beginners and more experienced artists.

Tickets for the workshop cost £15 per person and include general admission to the gallery for the day. This event is managed by the York Museums Trust as part of their efforts to provide more weekend learning activities for the community.

Participants will draw inspiration from the gallery collection, which currently features the Making Waves: The Art of Japanese Woodblock Print exhibition. People attending the workshop can use the drawing materials provided by the gallery or bring their own to capture the live model during the session.
