Residents visiting the New Theatre Peterborough in Cambridgeshire can now pay a small fee to protect their ticket costs if they cannot attend a show. This new option allows people to safeguard their money against unexpected problems like illness or travel delays.

The service costs £2 per ticket and is being introduced this month by Landmark Theatres at both the New Theatre and the Key Theatre. By partnering with Secure My Booking, the venue can now cover guests for issues such as bad weather, accidents, and family bereavement.

This update comes after many residents faced difficult travel conditions throughout February 2026. The city saw several weekends of rail engineering works and strikes that made it harder for people to reach local performances on time.

While the protection covers personal emergencies, it does not apply if a show is cancelled or if a specific actor is unable to perform. For those situations, the theatre will continue to use its standard refund and exchange policies.

If a person needs to ask for their money back under the new scheme, they must do so within 60 days of the show.
