The Huddersfield St Patrick’s Day Parade will return to Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on Sunday 15 March 2026 for its 24th annual celebration. The event will take place at the Huddersfield Open Market on Brook Street from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with the parade itself scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Organised by the Huddersfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade Association, the celebration serves as a cultural gathering for the local Irish community. Visitors can expect traditional music and dancing from groups including the Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band, the Francis Cassidy School of Irish Dancing, and the Nolan Family. The afternoon will also feature carnival performances and demonstrations of Gaelic football skills by Brothers Pearse GAA.

This year’s parade occurs as Kirklees Council moves forward with a 16.5 million pound upgrade of the market site. With construction expected to start in Spring 2026, the celebration marks one of the final major festivals held at the historic market hall before work begins. The project is funded by the government’s Levelling Up Fund and is expected to take around 18 months to complete.

Residents and market visitors should expect larger crowds and some changes to access around Brook Street and Northumberland Street throughout the day. While the celebration brings a boost in footfall for local stallholders, many traders are also preparing for a move to a temporary market site while the renovations are carried out.
