Four men were arrested in the Liden area of Swindon, Wiltshire, on Wednesday 25 February 2026, following a pre-planned police operation at a local home.
The arrests took place at a property in Galsworthy Close during an operation that began as a search for drugs. Wiltshire Police confirmed that the four men were taken into custody on suspicion of offences involving firearms.
The raid involved several specialist units, including specialist firearms officers and paramedics from the Hazardous Area Response Team. Crews from the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene to provide technical assistance during the morning.
Police set up a cordon at the junction of Austen Crescent and Galsworthy Close, which remained in place for more than four hours. The suspects are currently being held for questioning by a proactive crime team that focuses on dismantling drug supply networks and serious crime.
Residents in the area may notice more police patrols over the coming days. Officers are carrying out these patrols to talk with the community and provide reassurance following the large emergency service presence on the street.
