The programme, which includes activities specifically for babies and toddlers, aims to encourage young children to enjoy reading through low-cost activities at local library branches.
The celebrations begin on Wednesday 4 March 2026 with a special session at the City Library at Museum and Winter Gardens at 11:00 am. According to Sunderland Libraries, this event is part of the Rhyme & Shine programme, which uses music and stories to help children up to age four develop language and social skills.
