Poole Town FC lost 1-2 to league rivals Gloucester City at Tatnam Stadium in Poole, Dorset, on 28 February 2026, a result that sees the home side drop to third place in the league table.

The visitors took the lead in the 16th minute when Rylie Siddall scored from distance, but Poole equalised in the 56th minute through striker Shaquille Gwengwe. This was the 34th goal of the season for Gwengwe, though Gloucester managed to score again shortly after to win the match.

Because of the large number of fans and the importance of the game, the club followed police advice to use separate sections for home and away supporters. Joint managers Joe Lea and Pat Suraci must now prepare the squad for their next game away at Dorchester Town on 7 March 2026.

This loss leaves the team three points behind second place with only two months left in the current playing season. Local businesses in the Oakdale area often see more customers on match days, and the club is hoping for strong support in their remaining home fixtures to help their push for promotion.
