Watford North in Hertfordshire recorded a total of 324 crimes during January 2026, with violence and sexual offences making up the largest portion of the reports. This figure comes from the latest monthly data released by the local police team covering residential areas like the Woodside, Stanborough, Tudor, and Meriden wards.

According to Hertfordshire Constabulary, there were 132 reports of violence and sexual offences in the area. Other common issues included 55 reports of anti-social behaviour and 27 reports of other types of theft during the first month of the year.

The high number of violent and sexual offences accounted for nearly 41 per cent of all crime in the neighbourhood. This rate is higher than the average for the wider Watford postcode area, where these types of offences typically make up about 35 per cent of all reports.

The local police team is currently led by Inspector Simon Cooper, who returned to lead the town’s neighbourhood officers in early 2026. The team is based at a station on George Street, which was officially opened in 2024.

Current data shows that violent crime levels across the whole of Watford sit at 104 per cent of the national average. This means the town sees an annual rate of about 37 violent crimes for every 1,000 people who live there.
