Northamptonshire Police are asking for help from the public after a masked man robbed the Woodford Post Office in Northamptonshire at knifepoint on 24 February 2026. The robbery happened at around 6:00 PM when a man armed with a large knife threatened the postmistress and stole the cash till. Officers are now searching for video footage to help identify the man and improve local safety.
The suspect was wearing a black hooded tracksuit and was last seen running through private gardens towards the Mill Road area. Witnesses reported that the man appeared to change his clothes and told a neighbour he was hiding because someone was trying to kill him before he fled the scene.
Postmistress Bal Suman, who has seen her shop targeted five times since 2018, said the man pointed the knife at her stomach after she refused to hand over money. She also shared concerns about the police response, stating that it took officers 30 minutes to arrive at the High Street shop because they were too busy at the time.
Anyone with information or video from dash-cam, CCTV, or doorbell cameras recorded in the village on the night of the robbery is asked to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police or Crimestoppers and should mention incident number 26000110523 to help with the investigation.
