The local heritage group Hinckley Past & Present has reached a major milestone by making more than 11,000 historical photographs available to the public through its free online archive. This digital collection allows residents in Hinckley, Leicestershire, to explore the history of their streets and families from their computers or mobile phones.

The archive now contains 11,096 photos, featuring a significant Earl Shilton and Barwell Photographic Archive that first began as a community project in 2003. This effort was originally started to save private photo albums and has since grown into a massive record of local scenes and family history.

To help people explore the area, the website provides an Interactive Map of Hinckley historical areas that works on smartphones. This tool lets people look at historical buildings and old street views while they are walking through the town, showing how the community looked in past times.

In addition to the pictures, the website includes 50 pages of interviews with local people from Hinckley, Burbage, Barwell, and Stoke Golding.
