The annual community dog walk organised by Banbury BID is returning to the town centre on Sunday 12 April 2026. Dog owners and their pets are invited to meet at the canal side near Lock 29 at 10:00am to participate in the event.
The walk is free to join and serves as part of a wider effort to encourage residents to visit and support local town centre businesses. Participants will receive a goodie bag and be entered into a prize draw for the chance to feature in a new Dog Friendly Guide for Banbury.
This event has become a popular local tradition since it first launched in April 2024, when more than 80 dogs and their owners gathered for the inaugural walk. Previous events have been sponsored by local professional dog walking company Walking Pawz to help celebrate the bond between residents and their pets.
Banbury BID acts as a not-for-profit organisation that represents 388 businesses and organisations throughout the town centre. Since its official launch in 2018, the group has hosted various community activities to promote the town and increase local engagement.
