The Basingstoke Amateur Theatrical Society (BATS) has announced that auditions will soon open for its upcoming production of Calendar Girls The Musical. The show is scheduled to be performed at The Haymarket in Basingstoke from 17 to 21 November 2026.

Those interested in auditioning are invited to attend a welcome talk and social on Wednesday 27 May 2026. The event will be held at Christ Church, Chineham, from 7.30pm to 10.00pm, providing a chance for prospective performers to meet Director Angus Jacobs and Musical Director Julie Dance. While attendance is not mandatory for auditioning, the evening will feature an overview of the show, a character breakdown, and an introduction to the vocal requirements.

Optional pre-audition workshops are also available on Monday 1 June and Wednesday 3 June 2026 at Christ Church, Chineham, running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. To audition, applicants must be adults aged 18 or over and paid-up members of BATS. Annual membership costs £25, and payment must be completed through the BATS website to access necessary audition materials and the online application form. All online forms must be submitted by 11.59pm on Wednesday 3 June 2026.

Auditions and callbacks will take place at St. Mark’s School, Basingstoke, on Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June 2026, from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Individuals who are successfully cast in the production will be required to pay a performance fee of £100, which can be settled in full or across four instalments. Founded in 1958, BATS is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit society that recently concluded a production of We Will Rock You at The Haymarket earlier this month.
