Residents in Basingstoke and Deane can now nominate individuals, groups, and businesses for the 2026 A Place to be Proud of Awards. This annual event celebrates those who have made a significant contribution to life in the borough through their hard work and community spirit.

Now in its 23rd year, the awards are organised by Destination Basingstoke in partnership with Basingstoke Voluntary Action, the Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council, and the Basingstoke Gazette. The event is headline sponsored by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Anyone who lives or works within the boundaries of the borough is welcome to suggest a person or organisation for an award across 12 categories, including the Unsung Hero, Health and Wellbeing, and Young Role Model of the Year awards. It is free to enter, and all nominations must be submitted through the Destination Basingstoke website.

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The winners will be announced during a special ceremony on Thursday, June 4, 2026, with the venue to be confirmed.
