Residents in Basingstoke, Hampshire, can watch movies under the stars this spring as the Milestones Museum hosts an outdoor cinema event from May 8 to May 10, 2026.

The weekend programme includes five different films, starting with Footloose on the evening of May 8, 2026. Saturday features screenings of The Greatest Showman and Dirty Dancing, while Beauty and the Beast and Bohemian Rhapsody will be shown on Sunday.

The screenings are being held by Outdoor Cinema UK on the grass area next to the museum. People attending the event are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on while they watch.

Families are welcome to bring their own picnics and drinks to the site, and the event is also dog-friendly. Entry is free for children under the age of three.

The Milestones Museum is a well-known local landmark that first opened in December 2000. It is operated by the Hampshire Cultural Trust, which uses the site to host various community events and attractions.
