Police Seek Witnesses After Basingstoke Driver Is Attacked

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is asking for witnesses to come forward after a man was dragged from his car and punched on Vivian Road in Basingstoke, Hampshire, on 12 March 2026.

Officers were called to the scene at 3:51 pm following reports that the victim, a man in his 50s, had been pulled from his vehicle and hit in the head in a suspected road rage incident. He was taken to hospital with a neck injury for treatment but has since been allowed to go home.

Police have already arrested two local men in connection with the attack. A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
